Pastor Betty Proctor

I am a native of Tennessee and was raised with a background of missions. My parents were medical missionaries in Palestine for thirteen years and served in East Africa during their retirement years. I became part of the United Methodist Church in 1995 as a volunteer youth director at Pegram United Methodist Church. The call to live out our Christian faith has been a constant in my life.

My undergraduate studies were at Belmont University- with a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy. I earned a Masters in Teaching from the University of Alaska Southeast and a Masters in Divinity from Asbury Seminary.

I believe in the power of the church to change the world, one life and community at a time. We are disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. I minister with a spirit of invitation for all people and a love for empowering fellow disciples on this journey of following Christ.

Ashlea Harvey

Children/Youth Ministry Director

Here I am at Joshua Tree National Park!

I love working with kids and teens! I have worked in childcare development centers, youth groups, nonprofits, science camps, and after-school programs for the last 8 years. I am an  alumnus of Oral Roberts University with a B.A. in Ministry & Leadership. Worship, Service,  and Love is a big part of who I am as a believer.

There is always an adventure to be had and a hike to go on. I was a wilderness guide in the mountains of California and would lead night hikes, teach science based curriculum to middle schoolers, and encourage others in stewardship of the land God has given us. My family and I would go camping when I was a kid and now it’s one of my favorite things!

My parents reside in  Memphis, TN which is where I am from, but I also spent much of my childhood in Austin, TX.  Although, Tennessee is my home. I am thankful to be a part of the Leiper’s Fork community. I love  encouraging others and I often talk about self-worth, purpose, and identity. My love language is  Words of Affirmation. A few of my favorite things: Cowboy Boots, Mountains, Coffee, Books,  Chocolate, and Music! A cool fact about myself is that I have visited 20 national parks and I have walked with lions in Africa!
